Search Marketing Summit 2027

Search Marketing Summit 2027 marks 20 years of Australia’s longest-running search marketing conference, first held in 2007. It takes place over three days at SMC Conference Centre in the Sydney CBD, with 49 sessions across two streams. The event is run by No Drama Media, a company dedicated to search engine marketing training and conferences since 2006.

The program opens with a full-day Advanced SEO/GEO Workshop focused on AI and relevance engineering. Sessions cover optimising for AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity; E-E-A-T and brand signals; AI-powered content strategy and programmatic SEO; and technical SEO for crawling, indexing and RAG. The day also covers AI-driven link building and digital PR, measuring visibility in AI search, and future-proofing strategy against algorithm volatility.

The two Summit days each open with a keynote, one on the future of search systems at Google and one on Generative Engine Optimisation. Two parallel streams follow. SEO topics include AI ranking factors, entity and semantic search, local SEO, structured data, technical SEO for large sites, SERP features and content briefs. PPC topics include automation, budget efficiency, audience targeting, Quality Score, retargeting, Shopping ads, CRM integration, landing pages, attribution and international campaigns.

Every session includes Q&A, and speakers stay on site through the breaks instead of flying in and out. Sessions are audio recorded with slides so attendees can catch up on any they missed. Attendees receive a certificate for CPD points. An optional networking dinner cruise on Sydney Harbour runs on the first Summit evening. The event is aimed at search marketers from the Australian and New Zealand search community working in SEO and paid search. It is open to business professionals aged 18 and over, and group packages are available for teams.
