Jason Hennessey is an entrepreneur, internationally recognised SEO expert, author, speaker, podcast host, and business coach. He has been working in search marketing since 2001, where he began reverse-engineering Google’s algorithm as a self-taught practitioner, long before SEO became a mainstream discipline.
Jason first built and sold multiple online businesses, including an early dot-com venture in the wedding industry. In 2009, after presenting his SEO expertise to a group of lawyers, he founded Everspark Interactive, a digital marketing agency focused on the legal sector, which he later sold. This work established him as one of the leading authorities in legal SEO.
In 2015, Jason founded Hennessey Digital, where he grew a small consultancy into a $20M+ agency serving law firms across the United States. Under his leadership, the company has appeared on the Inc. 5000 list multiple times, including six consecutive years through 2023. Alongside running the agency, Jason operates the SEO news platform iloveseo.com and hosts The Jason Hennessey Podcast, where he interviews entrepreneurs and business leaders.

Jason is the author of two best-selling books, Law Firm SEO, widely regarded as a definitive guide for legal marketing, and Honest SEO, which focuses on transparent, practical approaches to search engine optimisation. He is a frequent keynote speaker and guest on podcasts and webinars, and contributes as a columnist and writer for publications including the Washington Post, Entrepreneur, Inc., and the National Law Review.
He has also launched Hennessey Studios, a professional audio and video production studio in Hollywood, used for podcasting and media production. Jason is a United States Air Force veteran and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Originally from New York, he built his SEO career in Las Vegas and Atlanta, and now lives in the Los Angeles area with his wife and three children.
