Grant Simmons is an SEO strategist, consultant, speaker, trainer, and author with more than 35 years of experience in digital marketing and search. His career spans agency, in-house, consulting, and founder roles across B2B, B2C, affiliate, local, national, and international markets, with a consistent focus on connecting organic search performance to measurable business results.

Grant’s technical background in development and databases has shaped his approach to SEO, with a focus on information retrieval, structured data, scalable site architecture, and how search engines process and surface information. His areas of expertise include technical SEO, content frameworks, user-generated content, entity SEO, structured data, programmatic SEO, and generative engine optimization (GEO).

He currently works as Director of SEO, Content & GEO Strategist at Fiat Growth, advising early-stage and growth-oriented businesses on SEO and AI search strategies. His work includes developing go-to-market strategies, expanding organic, local, and AI-search visibility, aligning search traffic with appropriate landing pages, and improving engagement and conversions against defined ROI goals. He is also an SEO Strategist and Consultant at Brilliant Strategy and an Advisor & Evangelist at Waikay, where he contributes SEO and AI expertise to product development and evangelism. In 2025, he also co-founded Graick Agency.

Grant founded Simmonet Marketing in 2001 and grew the agency from its first client to more than 140 clients across multiple markets. He subsequently led SEO and social product at The Search Agency and served as VP of SEO and Performance Marketing at Homes.com, where he was part of the executive leadership team before the company was acquired by CoStar.

His client experience includes major brands and organizations such as M&M/Mars, UPS, GE, Kwikset, Red Bull, Fox Sports, Sam’s Club, Realtor.com, Hyundai, the City of Santa Monica, West Hollywood, San Mateo County, YPO, SunAmerica, and Diamond Resorts. He has also led and mentored teams of more than 15 search marketers, with a focus on developing people, processes, and scalable SEO operations.

Grant is a regular speaker at international search and marketing conferences, including Pubcon, BrightonSEO, Chiang Mai SEO, LRTCon, SMX, SES, Rocks Digital, Advanced Search Summit, and DMO Advanced. He has also taught and presented at UCLA Anderson School of Business and has appeared on podcasts, panels, and national media discussing SEO, agency operations, and the evolution of search.

His speaking topics include technical and enterprise SEO, Google updates, entity-based search, information retrieval, content strategy, big-site SEO, programmatic SEO, un-optimization, client and agency management, and GEO. Increasingly, his work examines how search and AI systems retrieve, interpret, and surface information, applying information-retrieval and LLM principles to help brands improve visibility across both traditional search engines and AI-powered search platforms.
